CoSchedule Marketing Calendar Review

By Ashley Jessen

Is CoSchedule the Best Content Marketing Calendar Available?

We wanted to update our Coschedule Content Marketing Calendar review. Our initial enthusiasm has now been replaced with a marketing calendar we cannot live without.

CoSchedule was added to the Profile Booster suite of marketing products more than 14 months ago and continues to be an indispensable solution for the business.

We are huge believers in creating a content calendar and having the ability to plan your blog posting out in advance. We were so impressed that we wanted to create a CoSchedule Marketing Calendar Review so you can see the vast benefits it has to offer.

Biggest lessons learned with Coschedule

One of our biggest concerns initially was the sheer number of features available with Coschedule when we first signed up.

Time is critical for everyone and none more so than a start-up business. We were at that stage.

So we bit the bullet and got stuck in. We watched the tutorials and got up speed quickly.

We then set about building our content marketing procedures so we could get the most out of the best content marketing calendar online.

Probably our biggest lesson we’ve learned since starting in Dec 2015, is streamlining our processes so the promotion part of our content strategy gets results.

Combining Coschedule and Buffer for maximum results

Prior to reviewing and purchasing Coschedule, we had been using Buffer extensively.

So we weren’t quite sure if the cheaper solution would be best or a combination of the two would work.

In the first few months, we were truly wondering if we should just stick to Buffer. But the results, reporting, analytics and ease of internal communication well and truly won us over.

Also, Buffer included our tweets and Facebook posts from anything and everything.

Coschedule has all our best content from our blog in the one spot.

So anytime we want to push another promotion of our own content, we jump on Coschedule.

Coschedule is still the best for this purpose.

Drag and drop items on your promotional calendar

The image below shows a 3 week period of our calendar from last year. What we wanted to highlight was the fact you can drag each of the social media promotions to any other date.

Literally, click and drag a Facebook post or Twitter post and push it to another day. It is that easy.

CoSchedule allows us to map out our content calendar in advance in an easy to view content calendar plus distribute to all your key social media accounts effortlessly.

Our Content Calendar planning spreadsheet was quite useful, but we were always missing certain elements of control and distribution. CoSchedule has managed to solve all of that plus more.

CoSchedule: The Editorial Calendar For WordPress

Multiple authors and content scheduling

The real power of CoSchedule comes down to the ability to add multiple authors to your content calendar and open up the conversation with them from within your WordPress blog.

Now you can assign writing tasks or add notes and suggestions to your editors, so all contributors are on the same page in one easy to view visual editor.

In addition to being able to chat with your editors, you can also work with your graphics and social media team. So what we do is write the blog post and then shoot a message to our graphics girl, who then adds the imagery needed to make our blog posts pop.

Finally, an all-in-one visual editor which makes social media sharing easy

Writing a new blog post is just a small part of the overall success of a blog. In fact, around 80% of your success will actually be as a result of the distribution of your new blog piece.

But one of the big challenges is how to efficiently distribute your shiny new blog piece to all your various social media channels.

This is one of the big shining lights of CoSchedule.

CoSchedule allows you to create all your social media posts across all the major channels right from within your WordPress blog post. I’ve never come across anything as easy and simple as boosting a post to social media as I have with CoSchedule.

Outsource to a virtual assistant or use CoSchedule?

Previously we had outsourced workers who would take our new blog posts and begin disseminating them around the web, including social media and social bookmarking sites.

CoSchedule has solved all of those time-consuming issues and enabled our team to focus purely on writing thought-provoking and engaging content.

In summary, here are the key benefits of using CoSchedule for your blogging empire.CoSchedule: The Editorial Calendar For WordPress

  • You can create your social media messages whilst you are in your blog CMS.
  • Ability to see everything in one place in a unified drag and drop calendar.
  • Assign tasks to your team and open conversation among your editors and graphics people.
  • All integrated with the most important social media tools. All of the tools are in the one place.
  • You are able to schedule more social media messages
  • The analytics is great and helps identify your best content so you can share those pieces more often.

So why not grab a 14 day free trial today. Your team will be thanking you for it.

Note: The links to CoSchedule on this page are affiliate links and we will benefit if you purchase through our links. Having said that, we would not recommend something we are not 100% happy with and actively using ourselves.
