Statista reported that there are 1.5 billion active users on Facebook, 320 million active users on Twitter and 100 million active users on LinkedIn.
However, one of the challenges with social media is creating the right strategy, implementing the right tools and having the right people on the job.
Today I am going to take a look at some of the best social media tools you and your marketing team can benefit from today. They will help you get more reach, drive more qualified leads and become the authority in your niche.
We use each of these social media tools at Profile Booster on a daily basis.
Also, when you build consistency with your social media marketing, you will notice your Search Engine Optimisation improves as well.
So that means more opportunity for front page rankings. Front page rankings continue to be a goal for thousands of forward-thinking organisations.
How did I come up with the top 7 Social Media Tools?
Time spent in the trenches. Social media has been a big part of every CFD, Forex and Finance company I have worked at over the last 7+ years. There has always been a strategy in place to get as much value as we can from this medium.
As you are no doubt aware, it takes time to get to know each social media platform. Then you have the fun of identifying which tools are going to best complement the time you can allocate to promotion.
So let’s jump into it and run through each of these tools you and your team can consider.
Social media tool number 1
Buffer is the first social media tool I like as it allows you to automate and schedule your best content. Buffer has integrations with all the top social media profiles including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest. Also, you can view the analytics of your posts and identify which ones are hitting home runs with your target audience.
Another thing I love about Buffer is the support their staff give. Buffer recently sent out a 25 step email sequence on how to maximise your time with Buffer, and it was first class.
Also, one of the representatives called me for a 15-minute strategy session to see how I could get more out of their service.
Social media tool number 2
In the video above you will notice I was originally using Topsy as my 2nd tool. Unfortunately, Topsy was bought by Apple in 2013 (for $200 million) and they decided on December 16, 2015, to discontinue the service. So after I had already created the video, they pulled the pin.
So as a replacement, I am going to suggest another tool I find extremely useful and that is Social Analytics Chrome Extension. Social Analytics shows how much engagement you are getting across any piece of content you want to check and it does it with the click of the mouse. It is that easy.
Social media tool number 3
If you are looking to find the world’s top performing content online right now, then check out Buzzsumo. Buzzsumo is the tool to uncover the hottest topics on the internet and start to leverage what is working online.
You can also create detailed reports with their analysis section, allowing you to delve deeper and get behind the reason why particular content is getting top results.
Social media tool number 4
In need of Twitter engagement and followers? Your goal then is to follow other people in a smart and efficient manner. Tweepi is one of the best social media tools which allow you to make quality connections and ensure your twitter account is firing on all cylinders.
We continue to maximise as much as we can out of Tweepi as it is such a useful social media tool.
One area of Tweepi we have discovered is using it to check the ‘fakeness’ of so many leading social media profiles.
So we go into Tweepi and open a competitor Twitter account. We then rank according to their last post.
As you can see from the image below (blurred for privacy), you will notice all of these last tweeted more than three years ago. I wish I could show you more, but this account has over 5,000 followers, and more than 50% of them are useless.
So, we have found Tweepi to be a useful tool in identifying the fake accounts.
Another way this is useful is when colleague pitched us on their new business and told us about the 15,000 Twitter followers.
There were so many fake accounts I had to take a video. Perhaps I can share the video on another occasion. Don’t want to reveal of the truth of certain industry players ;-).
Social media tool number 5 & 6
Hootsuite and Tweetdeck are two of the best social media tools to monitor your twitter account, engage with your audience and stay relevant in this fast paced world.
I prefer Tweetdeck myself. I must say I find the Tweetdeck application quite intensive on the PC as are the online versions. So I’m much happier jumping on to the online version, entering what I need to do and then closing it down.
Tweetdeck is the perfect tool for:
- Engaging in conversation with your target market
- Grouping your favourite Twitter people together
- Scheduling a series of Tweets at a time
- Great for managing multiple accounts
- All your Twitter feeds come through in real-time
- You can even schedule alerts
Also, did I mention Tweetdeck is free? So the price is right. Spot on in fact.
Social media tool number 7
